So i went through the hassle of designing a tow hook plate holder. The design is almost a perfect fit (the threading on the oem tow hook had minor differences in the thread pitch and thickness between each other thread). After fitting it in i wanted to test how strong it is, but as you see, the threaded part of the bolt broke inside as it was too weak. Im new to 3D printing and modeling, this was my first all in project. My print: Filament: PETG Wall lines: 8 Infill: Gyroid 50% Layer height: 0.16 Printer: Ankermake M5C (all other settings was based on ankermake profile for petg (white) What can i improve? Is this feasible? Or is it not worth it? I live in a country that has a really hot weather, up to 50 degree Celsius in the summer. This was a fun project for me, im going to order my metal plate holder/bracket tonight, so just wanted to know your opinions to improve in future projects. submitted by /u/banshee002 |
