Based on a few posts and videos I have seen, I have begun melting down PLA scraps into silicone molds using a toaster oven from the thrift store. Still haven't perfected my craft (some "layer lines" from letting a layer cool and not heat back up enough when I added more filament; some air pockets) but in the end, shiny useless trinkets from trash!
