Could a small amount of fuzzy skin lower odds of PLA parts breaking at layer lines?

I am building this part as a part of a larger prototype. I am printing it in Bambu PLA Matte with the 0.4mm nozzle. Because this is just a prototype I am trying to use as little filament as possible. I only need it to have a passable amount of longevity and strength.

Now while I filleted the corners nicely these parts are ridiculously easy to break in the section where the part goes fully vertical.

Obviously if I was building these for longer term use or my goal wasn't to use as little filament possible I would just add an additional wall loop. I am currently using 2 so walls are about 0.84mm thick.

So what if I used fuzzy skin to sort of randomize how layers are stacked on top of each other a bit? Do you think that could help decrease the chance that the parts snap at the layer line?

Is there perhaps some other way to do this that does not involve using more filament?
